Religious Freedom Advocate Paul Van Noy Endorses Raúl Labrador for Governor
I Stand With Raúl for Religious Liberty
Pastor Paul Van Noy, the founding pastor of Candlelight Christian Fellowship and President of the Ministerial Association for the City of Coeur d’Alene announced today he is endorsing Raúl Labrador for Governor.
Like Raúl Labrador, Pastor Van Noy has been a vocal proponent for protecting religious freedom. In Congress, Labrador, along with conservative Utah Senator Mike Lee, sponsored the First Amendment Defense Act, which reigns in government overreach and protects your right to worship however you choose without the fear of government coercion and retribution. Locally, Van Noy has worked tirelessly in opposition of a Coeur d’Alene ordinance which would compel business owners to take actions contrary to their religious beliefs.
“As Christians, we have an ethical responsibility to engage in the stewardship of our state by voting,” said Van Noy. “Our faith requires a stewardship of support for leaders who share our Christian values, ones who live by a strong and true moral compass. The stewardship of our God-given freedoms depends on this, and I know that Raúl Labrador will defend religious freedom and fight those who would subvert the Judeo-Christian values upon which our nation was founded.”
“I’m deeply humbled by Paul’s support of my candidacy. He’s been on the front lines of fighting for religious freedom, and understands just what’s at stake,” said Labrador. “The Founding Fathers' intention to protect freedom of religious expression in the Constitution is crystal clear. But far too many critics are trying to undermine this foundational principle in the name of political correctness. As a public servant, protecting our liberty and constitutional rights is one of my most important jobs, and as governor, I will continue to fight for religious freedom.”
Raúl Labrador, 49, is the conservative frontrunner in the crowded Idaho Republican gubernatorial primary and currently represents Idaho’s first congressional district. He and his wife Becca are proud of their five children and one daughter-in-law, and are happily expecting their first grandchild.
