Raúl Labrador Appoints Experienced Grassroots Team to Lead Campaign for Governor
I’ll stand with Raúl.
Eagle, ID -- Today, Congressman Raúl Labrador announced additional members of his gubernatorial campaign team.
“I am fortunate to have assembled such an amazing team,” said Labrador. “Not only do they have extensive experience in Idaho politics, but they are truly leaders in their industry. I feel confident that I’ve assembled the most qualified and competent campaign team in the governor's race, and I’m excited to have them help me take my message of conservative values across Idaho.”
The Labrador for Governor campaign will be led by longtime political advisor China Veldhouse Gum. Gum has extensive experience working in Idaho politics most notably serving as the Executive Director of the Idaho Republican Party, campaign manager for Congressman Labrador’s 2010 and 2012 congressional races, statewide races, and many state legislative races.
“I’m honored and excited to have this opportunity to work for such a principled, trustworthy, and honorable man,” said Gum. “I’ve spent 17 years working in politics in Idaho and I’ve rarely seen a man so committed to doing the right thing for the right reasons. He’s proven time and again to be genuinely committed to advancing conservative policies and principles. He doesn’t just talk like a conservative, he actually backs it up with action. I couldn’t be more excited to be working toward a brighter Idaho for all of us with Raúl Labrador as Governor."
The Labrador for Governor campaign also announced it has hired Jeff Roe and Ethan Zorfas from Axiom Strategies as principal advisors to the campaign, responsible for overall strategy, direct mail, and digital engagement. Roe and Zorfas most recently led Senator Ted Cruz’s presidential campaign. In Idaho, they helped build a statewide grassroots team that propelled Senator Cruz to a 17 point victory in Idaho’s presidential primary last year.
“Raúl Labrador is the kind of conservative leader we want to help get elected,” said Roe. “We’ve watched him become a leader of the conservative movement in the House of Representatives and got to know him well during the presidential campaign when he helped Senator Cruz win Idaho’s primary, and we are excited to be a part of his team.”
The campaign is rounded out by Glen Bolger and Robert Blizzard of Public Opinion Strategies, one of the country’s leading polling and strategy firms, and Jim Innocenzi from Sandler-Innocenzi. Bolger and Blizzard worked on Labrador’s 2016 congressional campaign and have been involved in Idaho politics for over 20 years. Jim Innocenzi will lead Labrador’s messaging and political advertising. Innocenzi has worked in Idaho politics for years and has done work for Mike Crapo, Dirk Kempthorne, Butch Otter, and Jim Risch among other Idaho officials.
