LABRADOR PRAISES CONSERVATIVES IN THE IDAHO LEGISLATURE FOR REJECTING MEDICAID EXPANSION
I’ll stand with Raúl.
Boise, ID – Today, gubernatorial candidate Raúl Labrador released the following statement after conservatives in the Idaho House of Representatives rejected the Little-Otter administration’s attempt to expand Medicaid.
"The Idaho Legislature was right to reject the Little-Otter administration’s attempt to expand Medicaid in Idaho. There’s no question this proposal would have expanded Medicaid and made thousands of Idahoans dependent on the government for their healthcare. States that have expanded Medicaid under Obamacare have enrolled more than twice as many able-bodied adults as they expected, leading to massive cost overruns and crippling these states’ ability to fully fund education, public safety, and other critical services for the truly needy.
I voted over 50 times to repeal Obamacare and worked with President Trump to pass a conservative healthcare reform bill out of the House of Representatives. In contrast, the Little-Otter administration propped up Obamacare by bringing the exchange to Idaho and trying to transfer the burden of paying for Idaho’s most vulnerable from his friends in the insurance industry to the back of taxpayers. In his TV ad, Tommy is once again aligning himself with liberal and establishment Republicans by supporting Obamacare-lite, which was rejected by every major conservative group in America. Brad and Tommy talk a good game now, but their past actions and words prove that they cannot be trusted to bring lasting conservative solutions to our healthcare crisis.”
