Free Market Healthcare Advocate Dr. Jim Brook Endorses Raúl Labrador for Governor
I’ll stand with Raúl.
Dr. Jim Brook, an Idaho Falls physician, author, and vocal proponent of empowering the free market to deliver affordable healthcare announced his endorsement of Raúl Labrador for governor.
For the past 13 years Dr. Brook has operated a family practice clinic under a direct-pay model which entails patients paying for services directly instead of billing insurance companies or government programs. “I’ve found that as long as government stays out of the way, healthcare can be affordable. It’s bureaucratic red tape and inefficiencies in the insurance model that make healthcare unnecessarily costly,” said Dr. Brook. “I support Raúl Labrador for governor because he’s fought to overturn Obamacare, opposes pricey Medicaid expansion, and believes that individuals, not the government, should make healthcare decisions,” he added.
“As it stands now, our healthcare system favors costly big-government programs and insurance companies at the expense of individuals,” said Labrador. “As governor, I’m committed to protecting Idaho’s families and our economy from Obamacare’s devastating impacts by embracing free enterprise solutions to healthcare. You can count on me to continue to battle the federal government to stop Obamacare, and to fight to lower the cost of healthcare for all Idahoans.”
Labrador, a founding member of the House Freedom Caucus, currently represents Idaho’s first congressional district, and has helped lead the fight in congress to repeal Obamacare. He’s on record as co-sponsoring numerous bills to stop Obamacare, including R.2682, the Defund Obamacare Act. “Socializing healthcare by embracing a single-payer system will only serve to drive up costs, and reduce access to quality care,” said Labrador. “Real healthcare reform requires less government intrusion, not more bureaucratic red tape.”
Raúl Labrador, 50, is the conservative frontrunner in the crowded Idaho Republican gubernatorial primary and currently represents Idaho’s first congressional district. He and his wife Becca are proud of their five children and one daughter-in-law, and are happily expecting their first grandchild.
